Iavor Ivanov, Partner
I’m the founder of Little Unicorns, a brand and communications agency designed with the singular purpose to earn the greatest results possible for our clients. Over the years I’ve worked across a wide range of initiatives, with a particular affinity for the arts, global health and development, technology, finance, the environment, and human rights — a mix that neatly reflects both my curiosity and the firm’s portfolio.
Before launching Little Unicorns in 2014, I was at Fenton, a social change communications agency, where I served as Vice President of Digital and later led the Washington, D.C. office. Earlier, I spent four years building and leading the digital division at United Way Worldwide, supporting strategic communications efforts across a network of 1,800 local organizations in more than 40 countries.
I trained as a linguist but began my career as a web designer back when the internet still felt like the frontier. Originally from Bulgaria, I moved to Washington, D.C. in 1999.
Beyond agency life, I’m an advocate and a fundraiser for animal rights and performing arts. I’ve served on the campaign board of the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund, and was a member of the advisory council of the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida. I’ve also serve on the board of trustees of the Washington National Opera.
I stepped away from personal social media years ago (initially as an experiment in self-preservation), but I’m always reachable the old-fashioned way.
