Iavor Ivanov, Partner
I’m the founder of Little Unicorns, a marketing agency designed with the singular purpose to earn the greatest results possible for our clients. While I’ve been involved in a broad range of communications accomplishments, I have a particular passion for the areas of Arts, Public Health, Global Development, Finance, Tech, Genomics, Energy, Environment, and Human Rights.
Before launching Little Unicorns in 2014, I spent two years at Fenton, a social change communications firm. My roles were Vice President of Digital, and Managing Director of the DC office.
Prior to Fenton, for four years I led the digital division at United Way Worldwide, the world’s largest private charity ($5.2 billion annual revenue), providing communications leadership to a network of 1,800 chapters across more than 40 countries and territories.
My background is in linguistics, but I began my career (in prehistoric times, before the invention of the flip phone) as a web designer. I was born in Bulgaria where I attended university before permanently moving (fleeing political and economic unrest) to Washington, D.C. in 1999.
I’m an advocate and a fundraiser for animal rights and performing arts. I served on the campaign board of the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund, and was a member of the advisory council of the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida. I currently serve on the board of trustees of the Washington National Opera.
I gave up personal use of social media (for lent, but it stuck), though you can still DM me on Twitter if that’s your preference.
